The spiritual jazz of Alice Coltrane merges with equally divine devotional music on Ninety Nine Eyes, as Sufism inspired its ritualistic course. Alongside the hypnotic repetition, ceremonial percussion and wordless chants, Yunis also incorporates synths influenced by the chillwave genre, enhancing the album’s ethereal choir.
