Vinyl LP pressing. 2022 release. Shygirl is a multidisciplinary artist from the East London club scene. She has finished her first major body of work, her debut album entitled, Nymph. Written and produced by Shygirl, alongside long-term collaborator Sega Bodega, it features additional production by Mura Masa, Bloodpop, Danny L Harle, and Noah Goldstein among others. The 12-track album is a stunningly innovative and diverse collection of songs exploring themes of friendship, community, escapism, love, and loss.

Today, experimental pop artist Shygirl announces her debut full-length album Nymph due September 30th via Because Music. To celebrate the project’s announcement, Shygirl shares the lead single “Firefly. The 12-track album was created with a close-knit group of friends and previous collaborators including Mura Masa, Sega Bodega, Karma Kid, Arca and Cosha along with the producers Noah Goldstein, Danny L Harle, BloodPop, Vegyn and Kingdom. Nymph reveals Shygirls inner self-reflection in experimental vocal tones and deconstructed dance melodies and exhibits a new level of intimacy and emotional depth in her songwriting. Simultaneously asserting her power and freedom and yet still longing for love, she delivers us lyrical harmonies and catchy hooks telling stories of relationships, sexual desires and romantic frustrations. Over lush production, Shygirl brings us on the journey of what intimacy is like for a woman whos seen as too hot to handle, someone sought after and overlooked at the same time. Shygirls melodies intertwine with the sounds of bassline, garage, dancehall and hip hop, all seamlessly flowing together like an artful ribbon dance.

The news of Nymph follows Shygirl’s collaboration with FKA twigs on the Caprisongs track “papi bones” along with the late 2021 offering in single “Cleo. Also in 2021, Shygirl shared the slowthai collaboration “BDE” and the self-directed short film, Shygirl BLU. Shygirl has gone on to star in Burberrys AW21 presentation, claim a coveted spot in Forbes 30 Under 30, grace the cover of Berlins influential 032c magazine and team up with Mura Masa to remix the Lady Gaga and Blackpink track “Sour Candy” for the praised Dawn of Chromatica album.
