Anthony Burgess reads from two of his own novels on this Caedmon spoken word LP: “The Eve of St. Venus,” his comic fantasy novella, and “Nothing Like the Sun,” his fictional account of Shakespeare’s love life. Burgess, best known as the author of “A Clockwork Orange,” brings his characteristic wit and erudition to both readings. Caedmon was a well-regarded spoken word label that frequently recorded authors performing their own work.
